Tumblr, My Blackhole on the Web

Two weeks ago, I started my own tumblog on Tumblr out of curiosity and interest in the chaotic randomity of photographs reblogged back and forth. It was only after the first week did I get over the frustration of figuring out Tumblr before I started reblogging myself. Now two weeks in the making with 47 posts, 1k+ likes and 10 followers so far, I'm hooked!

What got me curious were those little names like "sugarisheart" next to miniature thumbnails followed by a tiny "t" on the wall feed. A simple click on it brought me to the world of Tumblr, a social site built for micro-blogging. So I assumed it's was Twitter's big bro with a comprehension for Imagery. So once I saw stuff like the one on the right, I was, without a doubt, interested. Soon enough, I made my own account, with a lackluster name "haildusk" just to get started.

For the most, figuring Tumblr was tricky. I had to get used to features that I felt was lacking. Nevertheless, the more I understood it, the more the content diversified. Photos and quotes dominate with the occasional music and video clips. For me, its the photos that are the get my attention the most ranging from the cute, to quirky, to the simply beautiful beautiful

Like DeviantART, Tumblr is like a black hole of imagery. There is simply no end to what you can find. A picture is worth a thousand words they say, well Tumblr is an infinite novel.

So now, Tumblr has joined Facebook, DeviantART, and Twitter in my daily online sessions. Christmas just gets better and better.

p.s. I renamed it through-the-night.tumblr.com
