When was the last time a movie made me want to imagine myself leaving the theatre in some magical and implausible manner as inspired by the film. There's no denying that as I leave the cinema as the credits of Harry Potter 7 roll in, I imagined myself bypassing the exiting crowd by dissipating on the spot and emerging outside all with a some magic of an Elf. Who wouldn't agree that magic is a wonderful thing to have.
Throughout the years, I watched the series grow. Starting from the very first film, Sorcerer's Stone up until now. Throughout the years, my love for the series grew from a mere interest in seeing magic into a deeper understanding of the stories, themes, and emotions.
The wonder of magic was the original reason why I started enjoying the series. As I grew up, I learned that Harry Potter doesn't just simply enthrall its audience with it's magic and lore but also with it"s story, and themes. I came to realize that I can relate well to the struggles that the the trio endure can very much be, in some manner, similar to what we go through in life. I watch them experience such emotions like Love, Jealousy, Sorrow and Fear, as they go through the turbulent stage of adolescence. Much in the same manner that most of us undergo through. It's still a surprise for me they used to be little kids and we watch them grow up with every movie. Even up 'til now, I compare Harry's baby-face before, to his slight stubble that he has now.
Then comes magic...
One of the many appeals to the audience has got to be the magic. Sure, I could say that It's got me waving pens around and saying "Wingardium Leviosa". But in the world of magic where anything is possible, there always his something new with every movie that came. Personally, I'd love to have my very own Patronus, and have a blue mist-like wolf protect me from harm.
It's interesting to know that I've managed to watch every HP film on the big screen since it first appeared back in 2001. The series may soon come to and end with its final installment next year. I look forward to seeing the tale of the young wizard boy come to close.
Hopefully, It will set a new standard for book-to-film adaptations for years to come
